12 Fitness Tips

Since we’re all snuggled up on this Bank Holiday Monday, I’ve decided that some motivation for the next few weeks may be essential. So, here are 12 Fitness Tips 🙂

  1. Work hard: No joke – putting all your effort into a session or a class will make you reach your goals quicker. You’ll get the most out of your time, so really pushing yourself and getting sweaty is vital!
  2. Plyometrics: My favourite thing ever…. Jumping! Squat jumps, box jumps, burpees and so so much more. Plyos are a great way to bring your heart rate up, burn fat, tone your legs and get strong all in one. Do them!
  3. Stretches: They are so important as part of exercising to stop you from getting injured. Poor mobility is going to make movement harder and stop you from doing certain exercises correctly.
  4. Rest: Rest days are needed as much workouts are. Taking a day off to let your muscles recover and let your body get its energy back is a big part to smashing your next workout.
  1. Goals: Having goals will make it easier for you to stick with it! Have a big goal that you want to reach but also having smaller goals, weekly goals or even a goal per session – this will keep you motivated.
  2. Spot Targeting: There is no such thing! You can’t do a bunch of crunches and loose the fat in just that one area. Working the whole body and doing compound exercises is going to burn fat for the whole body. Spot Targeting will build the muscle in that area, making it look more toned.
  3. Food is Everything: Fitness and food go hand in hand. You can’t out train a bad diet no matter how hard you try!
  4. Food Diaries: One of the easiest ways to stay on top of a good diet is to keep a food diary. Track what your eating, as it can be so easy for us to eat bad foods, eat too much or too little without even realising it!
  5. Trying Something New: Get out of your comfort zone and challenge your body! If you find yourself not being challenged anymore or not feeling sore try something new, like a new program, class or a new sport to give your body a change and a fresh challenge.
  6. Finding a Friend: Finding someone to exercise with can make a big difference to your training regime. You will keep each other on track!
  1. Don’t Expect Results Straight Away: Everyone is different and its going to take everyone a different amount of time. Big changes are not going to happen over night. Your fitness is a journey and it will have ups and downs, so enjoy the ups and power through the downs!
  2. Finding A Workout Type You Enjoy: This part will genuinely make it so much easier to reach your goals. If you look forward to working out – you’re much more likely to actually workout!
